A New Day
**UPDATED***
It is a new day for Declaration Entertainment as we are proud to announce that co-founder Bill Whittle will now be working full-time for our little film company.
According to Bill, "After two wonderful years, I have parted ways with PJTV on the most amicable and affectionate of terms.
In his first move in his new capacity, Bill appeared on RED EYE with Greg Gutfeld on FOX NEWS on Thursday, September 30th to talk about Declaration Entertainment, the culture, and the state of the nation.
For those who love Bill's video political commentary, have no fear. Beginning today, Bill will launch a new series called FIREWALL sponsored by Declaration Entertainment.
Not everyone will agree with all of Bill’s political insights all of the time, and in his role as political commentator, he does not speak for Declaration Entertainment or our Citizen Producers, but this sponsorship will help us to reach broad new audiences with our brand and help us to continue to grow while also developing our production abilities.
Also, be looking for new DVDs, books, and blogs from Bill in the coming weeks.
As for us here at DecEnt, it may have seemed quiet these last few weeks, but the truth is there has been unbelievable work taking place behind the scenes. The script for The Arroyo is now complete and Bill and Jeremy are in discussions with traditional investors about the possibility of co-financing with our Citizen Producers to help jump-start our important shared effort.
Premiere Membership T-Shirts are finally here. If you are a Premiere Member and have not received an email about sizes and styles, please contact us here.
For the rest of us, T-Shirts and other merchandise will be available in the newly refined store in the next two weeks. A major update to the commerce aspects of the website was just completed this week and should make all interactions with the site much simpler.
Great things are happening, and more is ahead. The summer may have been a little slow around here, but the autumn promises to be anything but. Thanks for your patience, and welcome to the new day.

Thanks for the update, I'm
Thanks for the update, I'm glad to hear things are moving forward and was a little scared when I got the eMail from PJTV saying you weren't with them anymore, though I presumed it had to do with coming over here full time.
Speaking of which, there's some new posts I put on the Town Hall message boards, think they're waiting on moderator approval. And on that note, if at all possible (I know you're probably swamped, but this would be something to put on the list), could we have the forums changed over to something a little more user friendly like vBulletin? http://www.vbulletin.com
MD, we'll get our programmer
MD, we'll get our programmer to look into Vbulletin ASAP. I would like to make this as easy and robust as possible. Thanks for the tip.

Will your new videos be open
Will your new videos be open to the public? I'd hate for your oratory to be hidden behind a subscription wall, Bill.
Dear Harp, The reason
Dear Harp,
The reason for me leaving a really terrific opportunity at PJTV is twofold: first, I owe you wonderful Pioneer Declaration members my best efforts. And second, I felt that the message was not going as wide as it could.
So yes: thanks to Declaration Entertainment's production facilities, (and a private investor who is covering my pay so that we can produce these as DVD sets) ALL of my commentary will be absolutely free: no registration, no subscription, nothing to get in the way of people watching them. And since they are hosted on YouTube, they are embeddable, which means better link probability from the big sites and most of all, Facebook sharing.
These messages will be going out much wider now, and we owe it all to you and the rest of the Declaration family. Thanks for your confidence and your support.
Bill
Bill, Thank you. I'm going to
Bill,
Thank you. I'm going to greatly miss you. Your content on PJTV has been the major reason for me to view it regularly. I hope you will not be able to resist making a few more of the "all time great" videos like your address to graduates.
I understand how one must move on and concentrate on some things, full time, for any meaningful progress. I have sensed that this movie effort has not moved with the necessary swiftness to meet the necessary bench marks for it to succeed. Push HARD my friend. Please remember the high impact (and low budget) in the making of Italian westerns. One good director and a lot of fantasic dessert / Arizona sky can be most of what it takes to get the right movie, in budget. This and ZOOM - you have the "Good, The Bad, and the Ugly".
I am still worried that the plot will not draw audiance, since it is serious, probably not have the "star Power" of big big names, and will be panned or ignored by the Progressive Media and critics. Gee, I sure wish it was more like "Airplane" in satire of the honorless, worm-like, current Progressive government. Comedy is SO much easier to get people into the Movies.
Thank you again for all your PJTV movies.
Jeff Steinorth
Jeff, There are VERY big
Jeff,
There are VERY big things moving under the radar as far as the Arroyo is concerned. A lot of people want to see that movie made, and if we can close private funding for it all of our start-up issues are resolved. Hang in there!
And thanks to you, we are going to be putting out a lot MORE content, not less. This first video is just the beginning,
Thanks for the support.
B
Bill, I am really, really
Bill,
I am really, really going to miss you on PJTV. I have thoroughly enjoyed your always-inspiring Afterburner, and your interesting and amusing insights on the Trifecta show.
Both Declaration Entertainment and PJTV are very worthwhile and important endeavors, and it is a shame you cannot do both. But, I know one sometimes has to decide on the best use of their time. I have recently had to make a similar decision myself.
PJTV will not be the same without you.
I wish you all the best in this new enterprise. I am really anxious to see your work in "Aurora".
Best Regards,
Peter Trippett
Peter, You will be seeing a
Peter,
You will be seeing a lot more of the Afterburner type videos, and thanks to your support through Declaration, many different types of content as well, once we get past the election.
I miss the Trifecta gang, but we'll work together again someday soon. Until then, we are very excited about reaching many, many times the audience that we were able to capture at PJTV.
Thanks for the kind words. More video coming early this week.

Bill, I really hope that
Bill,
I really hope that Scott Ott was a positive influence on you during your frequent contacts. He is one of the few men i admire more than yourself. Are you doing OK buddy? I am right up here in Santa Barbara and more than willing to drive down there stand you for a beer or three. I just might be able to fill you in on some little known facts of the BMDS (without getting into classified details), and give you a shoulder to beat on like a sheepdog. rtoddjohnson@yahoo.com
Deus est Semper Fidelis
Todd, thanks for the kind
Todd, thanks for the kind words, the lucrative offer, and the general support. I promise you, I have never felt better or more energized. You are going to see an EXPLOSION of new content, all of it free and all of it bearing the Declaration commercial.
The second you explain what the BMDS is I will feel like a total idiot for not getting the acronym... but I don't get the acronym!
B
Bill, I think he is referring
Bill,
I think he is referring to the Ballistic Missile Defense System... But I could be wrong.
BTW, I was also bummed/surprised to see that you left PJTV, but I am ecstatic that you are committing to Declaration full-time.
Much Respect,
Tracy
So that's why Kruiser was on
So that's why Kruiser was on the last Trifecta. By the way, you looked a lot like Treat Williams in your Red Eye appearance. Something about the hair did it.
Travis, speaking now as Man
Travis, speaking now as Man of a Thousand Haircuts -- no two afterburners were ever the same -- this new style was done by Gary Sinise's hairstylist in his trailer on the CSI lot. It's taken a while to get the hang of it on a daily basis, but I think the look in Firewall is AWESOME. It's like Christmas for me every day,
Thanks for the kind words. Knocking my hair is kind of an inside joke with my friends, so its always nice to hear some support!
B
Okay... I'm a little slow on
Okay... I'm a little slow on the uptake, but is there a hint in their that you've been talking to Mr. Sinise about Declaration? He would be a good man to get involved.
Tracy
It is great to see things
It is great to see things moving faster. I'm sure I speak for many of the membership by saying I'm so excited about these developments. I made a very important stand, but now I believe I've made a very good investment.
You guys took the risk though. Bill, I knew I could trust you to be a responsible steward of our contributions. I knew you had it in your gut, the desire to do more than commentary, but to take action.
Thank you guys for making this important and vital effort to save our culture.
And yeah, that's why Kruiser has been on.
Dear "Go," I can't tell
Dear "Go,"
I can't tell you how much it means to me that you appreciate the magnitude of my decision to leave PJTV -- it was without question the best job I ever had. But there were so many things I wanted to try there, and didn't, because I hated to see them locked up behind the firewall.
When you see what we have in store for you I think you will be impressed, and if you are, please remember that it is only because of the decision you made here at DE that I am able to keep doing the work. Thanks for the support.
B
By the by Bill I'm looking
By the by Bill I'm looking forward to seeing you on here again. I'm happy to be able to still see you and watch your archived shows on PJTV. I think you helped to pave the way -- you, and Klavan, and Zo.. but now they're strong enough to stand on their own. You are the man.
Bill: have long been a fan
Bill: have long been a fan since the days of Eject! Eject! Eject! I enjoy PJTV but I am a big believer in following your bliss, although I confess I have not yet found mine. But I know this will be the right thing for you, and for the rest of us. I can't wait to see some of the new videos; I really enjoyed Part I of What We Believe. It is excellent.
Finest, thanks for the
Finest, thanks for the support, and thanks especially for taking a chance on DE and allowing me to make this content free and embeddable, and get it out to as many people as we can.
Jeremy and I are very grateful, and it pained us ENORMOUSLY that we could not talk about it during the very quiet weeks leading up to the decision.
Best regards,
Bill Whittle

Well, of course -- because they'll be WRONG :-)
Jeremy was just being polite.
Jeremy was just being polite. He's from Texas.
=)
That made my day, Heinleiner. And what an awesome name, BTW. In movie two they convert an Aurora-class ship for battle and rename it the Heinlein.
B
That's awesome!! I love
That's awesome!! I love Robert Heinlein. Among what I might call the top sci-fi writers (Asimov, Clarke, Heinlein, and Herbert) Heinlein is my favorite. Not just for Starship Troopers, which helped inspire me and so many others to choose the Marine Corps instead of the Navy or Army. I read it twice at least.
It was his book, "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" that I place at the very top of the pedestal of sci-fi greatness. The jarring yet poignant diction of the first person speaker. His words of wisdom about libertarian revolt and independence. The climax depicts this hero and his fellow citizens of the moon fighting HARD for freedom and independence. I don't want to give away more.
I truly see you enjoying this book. I can understand if you don't feel you have the luxury of time. But this book should be made into a movie. Show the makers of Starship Troopers how it is really done.
Hi Bill, I'm the guy who
Hi Bill,
I'm the guy who pestered you on FB to listen to some of my old music (mostly written while living in Topanga Canyon) -- you seemed to like that dance-teaser I did of the Mission Impossible theme which we both love, by Lalo Schifrin -- and which, though Schifrin originally scored it in 5 (beats to the measure), I stretched into 8 since all modern Western "Dance" (think "thud thud thud thud") music is in multiples of 2,4,8, etc. In any case I thought it worked out well and I believe I remember you saying the same.
Since then I've put the soundtracks to 2 films -- very short films (2+,3+min) which I guarantee you've never heard of. They were computer-graphics animation films and amazingly, they both won slots in the coveted "top 10 new films of year" at SIGGRAPH 1990. They competed against Disney, a clip from Schwarzenegger's "Total Recall," other multi-million-$ film clips, Industrial Light & Magic, Lucas Film, Pixar, ALL of Madison Avenue (scrubbing toilet brushes were big that year), and of course many foreign films.
I would be interested in writing music to all of, or parts of a future film. Or simply writing a particular character's theme. Or just basically help in any way along the lines of music composition for any film -- any scene. I write excellent running / chase scenes as well as great sad scenes. And...I'd work for FREE (ding ding ding). Ideally I'd just like a full screen credit (gasp!) "Somebody throw this bum out!"
If you watch the two very short films I have on my 20-year old music site, I hope you'd agree that I don't violate the cardinal rule of writing a soundtrack: that the music should never take "center stage" away from the visual, but rather, and ideally, always "works with" the visual image. I know this is going to sound very lefty-new-agey but... I think the music in the two films I wrote, worked with the CGI images in a (are you ready for it?) "symbiotic" way. :-)
At least, this is what was told to me by hundreds of people the night they saw the top 10 films which were chosen in a sold-out 30,000-people auditorium. (sort of a stripped down Oscars :-)

Mr. Whittle, I'm always a fan
Mr. Whittle,
I'm always a fan of "first principles" dialog and would like to offer my full appreciation and agreement with the content of this first video. In that light, I hope you'll understand my concern that it was posted in concert with Declaration Entertainment. As a citizen producer, it is my interest to promote entertaining movies with solid stories and themes that have been neglected or malinterpreted by Hollywood. My greatest concern is that Declaration Entertainment will become consumed with producing movies that are more message than story, crossing the line from entertainment to propaganda. No matter how much I may agree with this post, I would rather see it at a "Bill Whittle's Firewall Blog" site, something I would follow regularly, than here. Filling this space with a discussion of movie themes and how DE will fill a gap in the marketplace would be more valuable to me.
Thank-you for what you are
Thank-you for what you are doing. It is an honor to be a small part of it.
Hey Bill and Jeremy, I have
Hey Bill and Jeremy,
I have no Hollywood skills and nothing I think would be of use to you. But if I could I would sell it all and move to So. Cal. to be a part of what you are doing. I believe in your message.
My brother and I are both members of DE and we are promoting it in anyway we have at our gass roots level.
Peace.
Scott
Bill, i emailed PJTV and they
Bill, i emailed PJTV and they emailed back that you were pursuing new projects. It wasnt until i saw your clip on Hotair that i found Declaration E. Glad you are back. Keep up the great education you supply to viewers like myself. I have told many friends about PJTV, now i will lead them to DE. Ric
